Drifter CS

How do you improve on such a successful boat as the Aquanaut Drifter - the top model for the past few years and of which 250 have been sold? How do you produce an even better, more striking and more modern version? 

For this task Aquanaut's design and construction teams were faced with the production of a completely new yacht - the Drifter CS.

The abbreviation ‘CS’ is not just a meaningless  addition to the name; the ‘C’ stands for ‘Classic’ and the ‘S’ for ‘Special’ because a new and very special yacht had to be produced based on the ‘good old’ classic Drifter that still stands for absolute solidity and reliability. It had to be a combination of all the tried and tested ideas with the application of the latest technical advances and the incorporation of the best materials of the day. Additionally, and under the motto ‘more yacht for the same money’, a very attractive price/quality ratio had to be achieved for the customer. Our designers and technicians met all the tasks with flying colours.

The first yachts out of the CS Line are already sailing across the European Waterways - comfortable, safe and reliable.

Some of the special trademarks of the new Drifter CS line are:

• The all round sturdy rope fender mounted on a stainless steel tube in classic look. The elegant designer mast which widens towards the base for better stability (stays/rigging are no longer necessary). 
• Larger bathing platform for more swimming pleasure; with an optional fixed stairway leading to the aft deck. 
• The new anchor roller construction simplifies anchoring.
• The anchor chain is easily accessible (eg: cleaning) and is covered by a robust GEBO aluminium hatch cover.
• The external steering position has been ergonomically optimised, making handling by the skipper much more comfortable.
• The fuel tank filler openings and the engine bay ventilation ducts have been integrated into the superstructure, making the gangways completely free.
• The multi-chine hull with a long keel, protected propeller and two bilge keels make a significant contribution to stability, improve see keeping and roll resistance, comfort and of course directional stability.
• An exclusive interior – standard in cherry wood – with furniture, surrounds and solid door frames. 
• A new innovation is the rubber seals fitted to the door frame to reduce noise and vibration.
• (In the saloon and dinette the seating cushions are integrated into the fittings for the storage areas. Dominic feels that this paragraph can be left out ).
• Moreover, there are many more design improvements throughout the whole interior to make the yacht even more striking and elegant. Luxury in this yacht comes as standard equipment.
• CE Category B – the whole of Europe is your sailing area.
• Robust Perkins diesel engines – sound, strong and reliable.
• Custom Built – you decide which engine fit, interior and equipment you require.
